Yes, you can reserve the boat of your choice at least 24 hours in advance for departures in the morning only (see time slots on the booking form). To do so, go to the 'online booking' tab. Choose your desired location (Saint Julien Beach, Bauduen, or Esparron). Then select the date and boat, and fill in the necessary details. We do not reserve our entire fleet, and a few boats remain available for daily walk-ins. However, please note that demand is very high during peak season (July - August).
Yes. However, for large dogs like Shepherds or Labradors, please consider their size and weight when choosing a boat. In all cases, Alize Electronic Location will be happy to advise you before departure.
We do not require a financial deposit. However, a valid ID and a phone number (for contact in case of issues only) are required for all rentals.
You pay upon return based on the actual time the boat was used; we charge by the quarter-hour, so you only pay for the exact time used. A started quarter-hour is due. On certain Sundays and holidays, payment may be requested in advance for better logistics.
Holiday Vouchers and Credit Cards are accepted at all three of our rental stands. (Note: due to poor network coverage, credit card payments may not always work—bring an alternative payment method). Checks are no longer accepted.
Our stands are not specifically equipped for disabled access, but we have welcomed people with disabilities for years and our staff will do their best to assist you. Please call in advance for details. Some of our boats (Cap and Lagon 55) can accommodate an open wheelchair.
Everyone on board counts as a seat, even an infant. We recommend getting help from Alize Electronic Location to choose your boat.
Yes, in that case you need to contact us to get the rental conditions and rates.
From Esparron port, plan about 3 hours round trip. From Saint Julien Beach, about 4 hours. We recommend allowing more time to swim, admire the scenery, have a picnic, etc.
To go around the lake from Esparron de Verdon village to the Gréoux les Bains dam along the shores, plan around 2 hours.
Under certain conditions explained at departure, you may dock. Since 2018 it is forbidden to dock anywhere along the Basses Gorges du Verdon (except in emergencies). Depending on weather, docking may be entirely prohibited (especially during strong winds).
In mid-summer, the water can reach 26°C, with an average of 24°C.
Three areas are marked. The first is a black and yellow buoy line near the water intake at Saint Julien Beach; the second parallels the dam with similar signage. The third is the supervised swimming area in Esparron, marked with yellow buoys.
The most beautiful sites are Quartier (peninsula opposite Esparron Port), beaches around the lake, or even onboard your boat! All are marked on a map inside each boat. Remember: this lake is a drinking water reserve and a natural park—do not leave anything behind. Docking is strictly forbidden in the Basses Gorges.
In the village of Esparron, the village of Quinson, or at Saint Julien Beach. In all these places, there’s a stand where you can stop and recharge your boat during your meal.
The Quartier and some beaches at Saint Julien offer a gentle slope. Others around the lake are rocky plateaus.
All our boats can take you to the Grand Canyon. Count on 4.5 to 6 hours round trip depending on return wind conditions. A thermal wind often picks up in the afternoon. There are many other beautiful places to see around the lake.
Lake Sainte Croix is large—count at least 6 hours. Plan your tour based on time and preference. Alize Electronic Location will help you decide and estimate your rental time. We suggest at least one hour to start exploring the lake (Bauduen bay, Sainte Croix du Verdon village).
Docking is allowed in case of difficulty, with a speed limit of 5km/h near the shore (per prefectural decree). Docking is strictly prohibited inside the Grand Canyon past the Galetas bridge.
Near Bauduen, in mid-summer, water is between 21°C and 25°C. At the Grand Canyon outlet, it rarely exceeds 20°C.
Two areas are marked. One is near the dam, indicated by buoys you must not cross (strong whirlpools are nearby). The other is at the end of the Grand Canyon, where access is prohibited. Risk zones for electric motors exist near Bauduen Bay and are marked in the boat and at departure. Always keep 50 meters from the banks—many rocks are submerged and invisible.
Preferably before departure, in the village of Bauduen where many restaurants/snack bars are available. No facilities exist once on the lake.
No, but someone over 18 is required on board each boat. A minor can steer under the supervision of an adult.
All our boats have a roof. However, not all seats are necessarily shaded depending on the sun’s position.
Yes, steering our boats is easy and even kids can do it! Alize Electronic Location will explain everything before departure.
Some boats can hold a small unfolded stroller in addition to passengers. Recommended models: LAGON 55 and SEDNA 50. It's less suitable on the Cap but still possible. Otherwise, strollers, bikes, etc. can be left at our stands (under your responsibility).
Roofs protect from sun only. They are not suitable for rain.
Yes, swimming is allowed from all boats, with the engine off and under supervision. Never swim near the motor and always keep someone on board.
Yes, all our boats have ladders. But be very cautious using them—they’re close to the motor and are intended mainly for emergency use.
All boats have storage compartments, but they are not waterproof (for swimming, rain, etc.). Also, space is limited.
A map showing sites to discover and average travel time is displayed in every boat.
Someone over 18 must be on board. A minor may steer under their supervision.
We welcome everyone from any age—even infants. All boats can hold a baby bassinet or seat. A suitable life jacket will be provided.
Each boat has life jackets for all passengers, a paddle, a mooring rope, a bilge pump or scoop, a ladder, and a safety panel (emergency numbers, rules, etc.).
Child-sized life jackets are provided before departure. Ask at the counter.
Our boats are either self-draining or have a pump or scoop. Water from swimming or rain can be drained.
Each boat has a sign with the nearest stand’s phone number. Note: some areas, especially the gorges, have poor cell coverage.
Yes, you can fish from all our boats. Fish species include trout, pike, zander, perch, carp, chub, bleak... Don’t forget a proper fishing license based on lake category.
